TKA Senior Year - Varsity Football - 2008 - 2009

• DE, RG, and (new in 2009-2009) FB.

• One of only 2-3 TKA players playing both offense and defense
• Selected as the 49ers High School Player of the Week (www.49ers.com) in week 8.
• Selected as MaxPreps Preseason All-State Team in 8/4/08 (www.MaxPreps.com)
• This year, TKA moved from the weaker Bay league to the new Ocean A league, allowing them to play public high schools in the area.  Despite this, TKA averaged 43+ points per game. The end result is that next year's TKA team will play in the division 1.

• 61 carries, 593 yards, 9.72/carry (3rd on team)
• 12 TDs, 6 points/game (note - in some games, he did not play FB - 3rd on team

• Game 1 vs. Fremont: win (47-10).  4 carries, 69 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 sack. First run ever as fullback resulted in a TD. Highlight video on YouTube, Highlight video on Blip.TV (playing 2 quarters).
• Game 2 vs Mt. Pleasant: win (39-6). 5 carries, 70 yards, 1 TD, and 1 sack. Highlight video on YouTube, Highlight video on Blip.TV.
• Game 3 vs Gonzales: win (42-0). 1 carry, 6 yards. 8 tackles.
• Game 4 vs. Burlingame: win (41-14). 12 carries 82 yards, 3 TDs, 10 tackles, 2 sacks. 1 fumble recovery.  Note - for this game, he played as #35.
• Game 5 vs. Hillsdale win (48-7) 3 carries, 13 yards, for 2 TDs. Note - for this game, he played as #35.
• Game 6 vs. El Camino win (46-6) 5 carries, 71 yards, 1 TD, 8 tackles, 2 sacks. Note - for this game, he played as #35.
• Game 7 vs. Mills (The KTVU game of the week) win (24-14).  7 carries 34 yards, 1 reception, 1 TD, 1 blocked FG, 4 sacks, 14 tackles. Note - for this game, he played as #35. (Article from Sunnyvale Sun/Mercury News).
• Game 8 vs Sequoia win (55-8) Only playing as RG and DE - 3 sacks, 7 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery.
• Game 9 vs Sacred Heart (also 8-0, for the Ocean League Title) tie (21-21), Sacred Heart won the overtime tie breaker.  1 TD, 7 Carries for 82 yards, 10 tackles. NOTE: In 62 plays in which Travis was playing DE, Sacred Heart ran only 11 his way.  1 was stopped before it got to him, Travis stopped 6, and only 4 managed to get around him.
• Game 10 vs Jefferson win (44-6) 4 carries, 42 yards, 1 fumble recovery (playing 1 qtr).
• Game 11 - 1st round playoffs vs St. Francis, CCC of Santa Cruz, win (30-3) 5 carries, 30, 1 TD, 12 tackles, 1 interception (Article from Santa Cruz Sentinel).
• Game 12 - 2nd round playoffs vs. Sacred Heart Cathedral of San Francisco, loss (41-20) 8 carries, 94 yards, 12 tackles, 2 sacks (Article from San Jose Mercury).
• In addition to winning the Ocean ``A" League title by score, they also won the academic title.

• Ranked #12 Nationally for sacks per game (2.1)
• Ranked #13 Nationally for sacks overall (21 out of 10 games)
• Ranked #57 in CA (and 208 nationally) with 139 tackles overall.
• Ranked #47 in CA (and 194 nationally) with 13.9 tackles per game
• Ranked #2 in CA with 21 Sacks (#1 had 22 and was on a team that played more games.)
• Ranked #3 in CA with 2.1 sacks per game (#1 played 9 games and #2 only played 6).
